Bridge Will Abound in Summer as We Have a Temporary Home!

Some Modest Good News at Last!

We have found a place to go to on a temporary basis when we have to vacate Barkston Gardens in July.

Mark had another meeting this week with Queen’s Club, together with Nick, and I am very glad to be able to report that we’ve reached agreement to rent some unused space from them over the summer. As most people will know, Queen’s is close to Barons Court tube station. It is a private members’ club and so we will not be permitted to use their bar, parking, or other facilities. We will however have exclusive use of two good rooms there in a self‑contained building (not the main club house) which is great.

Chiswick Park

We are discussing possible lease terms with the agent. The premises offer us the space we need on one level and are within a minute’s walk of Chiswick Park tube station (District line) and 12 minute’s walk of Turnham Green (District and Piccadilly). There are plenty of places to eat nearby and parking is quite easy. We may well need to raise some additional funds to secure it and get it ready (money will have to be spent on partitions, bar, and extra WCs). Please speak to Mark if you want to find out more on financing (mark.gu30@gmail.com).

Brompton Hospital

Following a member’s suggestion, I have now spoken to their Estates Manager and agent but nothing suitable is available.
