Enhancements to Monday Pairs Sessions during Autumn 2017

From Monday, 2 October on each Monday until the Christmas and New Year break, the Young Chelsea will be re‑introducing its popular post‑session discussions led by an expert. You are welcome to stay on after the Monday session, and exchange views on the deals just played with a top-ranked player. The expert lined up for 2 October is renowned international and erstwhile club manager Nick Sandqvist. In the home stretch our four experts are David Burn (20 November), John  Cox (27 November), Barry Myers (4 December), and Andrew McIntosh (11 December).

And the Autumn Ladder now also has a couple of “Binkie Bonus” prizes, aimed particularly at those who play on Mondays.

One of the club’s regulars, Brian “Binkie” Callaghan, a professional bridge player, has offered to play a Monday duplicate, free of charge, with each of two ladder‑qualifying players, who have not won any other prize in the ladder. To qualify for a session with Binkie, you need to play in at least six Monday ladder duplicates. The players will be ranked by highest score from any four Monday ladder duplicates. The top ranked player will win one prize. After that, the highest ranked student will win the other. (If there is no such student, the second ranked player gets the prize.)

(Those who might be otherwise interested in hiring a professional partner can find more information on the ProBridge website.)
